In the 80s and 90s, Marithé François Girbaud built a reputation by pushing the boundaries of denim and jersey with experimental and deconstructed techniques. This t-shirt embodies this avant-garde spirit with its fragmented, almost topographical color blocking, rather than simple stripes. The skinny stretch cut, very close to the body, irresistibly evokes the 2000s, more closely resembling the technical sportswear reimagined by the club and rave culture of the 90s and early 2000s than a classic t-shirt. This type of piece sits at the crossroads between archive clothing and gorpcore style, appealing to both enthusiasts of French deconstructionist design history and those looking to build a Y2K capsule wardrobe of skinny pieces or sleeveless t-shirts. A truly rare Girbaud archive piece for collectors of experimental 90s and Y2K design.
